Our story

Our founder has always had a genuine love for Japanese culture and the art of tea. After spending a semester at Waseda University in Tokyo and nearly a year traveling across Japan, Yamana Matcha was born with the goal of sharing a part of this adventure. This marked the beginning of a meticulous journey: understanding the subtleties of matcha, exploring the different cultivars, comparing their flavors, and selecting a tea that reflects our values: authenticity, excellence, and commitment.

  • 山 (Yama) represents the majestic mountain that surrounds our matcha fields.
  • 菜 (Na), the nourishing leaves, essence of vitality and balance.
  • "Amana" is a reminder that we are entrusted with nature's gifts. It is our responsibility to honor nature by providing products that are good for your health, sourced from preserved fields, and grown without pesticides.

Our mission

At Yamana Matcha, our mission is simple: to make high-quality matcha accessible across Europe, by facilitating access to authentic, organic and high quality matcha. We want to offer a product of excellence, both healthy and respectful of nature , faithful to the Japanese spirit of harmony and responsibility.

Our logo

Our logo is inspired by the kanji 「山」 (yama), which means "mountain" in Japanese. This symbol reflects our deep attachment to nature and the fertile lands where our matcha is cultivated: in the Kagoshima region, known for the majestic Sakurajima volcano.

Our Matcha

Our matcha is cultivated using traditional Japanese methods, respecting ancestral techniques. We work closely with passionate farmers who have been perfecting their craft for generations.

Our matcha comes from Kagoshima, in southern Japan, a region renowned for its rich and fertile volcanic soils, ideal for growing tea.

Our Reserve range is a carefully selected blend of four noble cultivars, offering a perfect harmony of flavors. Sourced exclusively from the first harvest (ichibancha), 100% organic and hand-harvested, each batch is the result of rigorous work. We are committed to offering exceptional matcha and an authentic experience, whether in usucha, koicha or latte.

Our Ube

At Yamana Matcha, we have chosen to also incorporate ube , a purple yam, native to the Philippines, renowned for its nutritional benefits : rich in antioxidants , vitamins and fiber . Its organic, sustainable , and soil-friendly cultivation complements our environmental commitment. Its creamy texture blends perfectly with the unique taste of matcha, making ube an ideal ally for a healthy, tasty and responsible diet.
